I immediately fell madly in love v what Leonard does with his voice in this song, & ns love the music accompaniment behind his voice, esp. The violin but also the keyboard, etc. The an initial time ns heard it, ns was somewhat confused & a little bit jarred through the shift to the country-like component with the mrs voices, & the back & forth between the two styles/moods, & that felt prefer Leonard couldn"t decide which method he wanted to carry out the song (though I"m very sure that"s no the case!). Then i was surprised (& delighted) by just how much the track haunted me the following day (& the next, & the next. . .) - surprised only because of how I"d felt jarred through the country-style interludes the night before. I"ve listened come it numerous times since then, & by the second listen, I found myself rather enjoying the alternating styles, also if simply for the unusual aspect of it, but it"s also really interesting in the it seems to present "various positions" top top the matter at your disposal (manic-depressive positions, despite they may be, yet that is currently something that ns love about it!). Therefore though i still might love that even more without the country-style interludes, i don"t feeling jarred by that component anymore, ns love the whole song more each time i hear it, & the key thing for me is the the gut-wrenching intensity, beauty beauty & expressiveness that Leonard"s voice (OMG!! the VOICE!!!) & lyrics yes, really override something else, & since of that, the song easily (though all of sudden at first) came to be one of my favorites. And also let me just add: certainly not a "major misstep"!!
