Is this "seems-impossible-to-beat" side mission required for platinum? I"m getting my ass handed to me even with all of the health upgrades. One of the biggest fucking problems I"m having with this shit game when it comes to combat is that it never responds all that well when hitting the triangle button to counter. "Fluid and responsive controls" though, right guys? My ass.

Do you know what"s making it difficult? It"s so glitchy! The counter is complete shit and half the time doesn"t counter. This applies to every combat situation I"ve come across in the game so far but it"s even worse in this mission. Even with the Vigilante outfit (counters are made easier to perform bonus stat) it doesn"t make a bit of difference.
Picking up knives off the ground and trying to target an enemy is a test in frustration due to the fact that half the time, once again, it just kind of glitches and doesn"t target enemies.
I remember this game frustrating the living shit out of me when I platinumed it back on the PS3. The PS4 version is much worse in my opinion, especially this mission in question. Where this spike of difficulty comes from and WHY is beyond me but man fuck this game, I regret buying it and playing it again.
So after trying every outfit, every method I could think of, one simple method worked for me: No buffs - got tired of running to the different vendors to buff myself when it didn"t even make a fucking difference anyway - no running around picking up dropped knives to try and throw at enemies as the mechanic is completely broken and was doing nothing but get me killed. I simply wore the Super-Swat Tactical Uniform and spammed the hell out of the square button with golden knife in hand right where all the enemies drop down from. I passed it on my first attempt this way.

I got sick of trying every method read about or that I could think of only to fail repeatedly so I said fuck it and "swung for the fences", as the saying goes. Doing it this way it took me like 5 minutes - if that - to clear 30 enemies. Did I get lucky? Perhaps. Perhaps not. But with all the enemies dropping down and being concentrated in one area I was basically doing "area of effect" damage. Another words I was hitting/killing multiple enemies with each swing so I was able to clear waves faster and get health bonuses.
But of course being so heavily concentrated this means it could also backfire on you quite fast by getting completely gang-raped on all sides so do your best to counter as much as you can as well to reduce this problem. Try it and see what happens. Swing for the fences like I did right where the enemies drop down from and see if it helps you get past this infuriating mission.
